Walk-ins Welcome
The Lounge
"A cigar asks for two things the modern world rarely offers: stable air and unhurried time. We built the room around both."
Above Nimman, behind a single unmarked door, sits a room engineered for one purpose. The CNX Cigars lounge holds steady where the climate outside does not, an open floor that seats thirty in comfort, and a private reserve held back for those who ask for it.
The Open Floor
The main lounge is open, generous, and unhurried. Thirty-plus seats are arranged not in rows but in conversation, deep leather, low tables, and the kind of spacing that lets a room breathe. No queue, no counter, no rush toward the next guest.
This is the social heart of the Chiang Mai cigar lounge. Expatriates, travellers, and local connoisseurs share the same air here, and the room is deliberately sized so that a full house never feels like a crowd. Every cigar in the room is drawn from the same humidor.
Every cigar in the room is kept at a steady 68 to 70 percent humidity and a cool, even temperature, held there around the clock. This is the whole premise. A cigar left in the wrong conditions is a cigar already spoiled, so the humidor is controlled and monitored every day.
That control runs independently of the weather outside, kept clear of the heat and the monsoon swings of Northern Thailand. What reaches your hand has been stored properly from the day it arrived to the moment it is cut.
Get the humidity and temperature right, and everything else follows.
Micro-Climate
"The open room is for the city. The private reserve is for the evening you want no one to interrupt."The CNX Cigars Lounge, Nimman
Four to six seats
Held apart from the main floor is a smaller room, reserved for parties of four to six. It is booked, not walked into. The protocol exists to protect the evening, not to gatekeep it.
The reserve is confirmed through LINE or WhatsApp. A short message lets us prepare the room, the pairings, and the selection before you arrive. Nothing is left to chance.
Once the reserve is yours for the evening, it is yours alone. No shared tables, no passing traffic. This is the room for a milestone, a closed conversation, or a host who wants the night to feel considered.
Tell us what you reach for, or tell us nothing and let Amir map the palate of the table. Either way, the selection waiting for you is chosen, not stocked.
We do not take public form submissions, and we do not list a checkout. Every visit, whether to the open floor or the private reserve, begins with a direct message. It is a deliberate friction, and it is the right one.
A message lets us hold the right seats, brief the room, and ensure that the cigars matched to your evening are in condition before you cross the door. It is the difference between arriving as a name on a list and arriving as a guest who was expected.
Protocol
Nimman
The lounge sits on the second floor of Nimmana Haeminda Road Lane 11, in the cultural centre of Chiang Mai. The address is exact. The door is quiet. You will not stumble across it, and that is intentional.
To find the room is to have been pointed toward it. Patrons arrive knowing where they are going, which is precisely how a private cigar lounge should work.
Before your visit
Practical answers for first-time visitors and regular guests alike.
Get in TouchCNX Cigars is open daily from 12 noon to midnight. No booking is required to visit during these hours. Walk in any time and the team will look after you from the moment you arrive.
A purchase is expected if you are using the lounge space, but there is no minimum spend and no pressure. If you want to come in, look around, ask questions, and leave without buying anything on your first visit, that is fine. The lounge operates on the understanding that trust is built over time. Most first-time visitors who come in just to look end up lighting something within the hour.
Yes. Non-smoking guests are welcome in the lounge. The air filtration system runs continuously and keeps the environment comfortable even for non-smokers. The lounge is social by nature and the conversation is as much a part of the experience as the cigars. Non-smoking companions are treated as full guests.
The lounge uses multi-stage HEPA filtration and carbon-scrubbing intake chambers that complete a full air volume replacement every few minutes. The result is a clean, neutral atmosphere without residual smoke build-up. Guests can spend several hours in the lounge without the sensory fatigue common in poorly ventilated smoking venues. The system runs continuously during all opening hours.
There is no formal dress code. Smart casual is the natural register of the clientele, but you will not be turned away for arriving in anything short of beachwear. The lounge attracts a mix of expats, business travellers, collectors, and curious locals. The atmosphere is refined but relaxed. Dress to feel comfortable.
Ask the team when you arrive. Pairing recommendations, including whisky, rum, and coffee, can be arranged and are part of the lounge conversation. The focus is on the cigar experience, but a well-chosen drink alongside it is expected and encouraged.
CNX Cigars is on the second floor of 45 Nimmana Haeminda Road, Lane 11, in the Nimman area of Chiang Mai. It is one of Chiang Mai's most accessible and well-known neighbourhoods. Street parking is available in the area and the building is straightforward to find. Message us via WhatsApp if you need directions on the day.
This is considered on a case-by-case basis and is generally reserved for established regular clients. If you have a specific cigar you want to smoke in the lounge, message Amir before you visit and he will advise. Any cigar smoked on the premises must be authentic and legally sourced. The lounge does not permit counterfeit tobacco under any circumstances.
Early afternoons, between noon and four, tend to be quieter and are an ideal time for a first visit or a longer guided conversation with Amir. Evenings from seven onwards are more social and often include a mix of regulars, walk-ins, and visitors. Both have their character. If you want Amir's full attention for a selection consultation or a longer conversation, an afternoon visit is the better choice.
Yes, and it is frequently used for exactly that. A cigar lounge naturally slows a conversation down and creates a context that is difficult to replicate in a restaurant or hotel lobby. The atmosphere is private enough for candid discussion and relaxed enough that guests drop their guard. Many of CNX's regular clients use the lounge for client entertainment, informal deal discussions, and relationship-building evenings. For larger groups or a fully private setting, send a message in advance.
Cross the threshold
Whether you are joining the floor for an afternoon or holding the reserve for a closed gathering of six, the lounge runs on a single principle: stable air, unhurried time, and a seat held for someone who was expected.
